There was a time in the not-too-distant past when cell phones were free. Your signature on a two-year contract was good enough for the phone of your choice. We anxiously awaited the day our two-year contract was up so we could upgrade our phones for free. Those days are over. Top-tier phones from Apple and Samsung cost more than $1000, but not everyone is ready to part with that kind of cash. Apple hears us. The new iPhone SE 2nd Generation, Apple’s entry-level offering, will cost even less than the phone it replaces.
Despite including state-of-the-art features, Apple has set a target price of just $400 for the 2nd Generation iPhone SE. That entry-level purchase price includes an A13 chipset, which is the same as the iPhone 11. It also includes 32GB of storage with an available 64GB option. The new phone’s 4.7-inch screen is the same size as the outgoing model’s.
Of course, Apple needed to drop a few features to significantly lower the cost of the iPhone SE 2nd Generation. Gone is Face ID, replaced with Apple’s older-tech Touch ID. A single camera loses some of the advanced photography effects of the dual-camera models. The new SE’s 750 x 1334-pixel screen isn’t quite as sharp as the 11’s or as color-vivid as the 11 Pro’s OLED screen. Lastly, those who hoped for the return of the 3.5mm headphone jack with the release of the 2nd Gen SE will be disappointed.
With all the new changes, the iPhone SE 2nd Generation will be completely adequate for most people. Of course, aside from comparisons with Apple’s flagship models, $400 is still a substantial amount of money. 2nd Generation iPhone SE owners will want the peace of mind that comes with the added protection of a phone case, screen protector, or protective skin.
At BodyGuardz, we keep an eye on the newest technology and stay out in front of the latest releases from Apple, Samsung, Google, and LG. When Apple announced its new phone, we were ready. We now carry iPhone cases, screen protectors, and protective skins for the iPhone SE 2nd Generation. Here is a look at the new BodyGuardz iPhone cases:
Our best-selling phone case is ready for your shiny new iPhone SE 2nd Generation. It’s been a long time coming, but Apple has finally replaced its long-in-the-tooth iPhone 8 with a better, less expensive alternative. It looks like they’ve included everything we need and nothing we don’t (except, of course, the headphone jack). At BodyGuardz, we keep a close eye on device manufacturers to make sure protection is available as soon as new models hit the showroom floor. We offer two cases for iPhone SE 2nd Generation: Ace Pro and Harmony. We also offer screen protectors and skins for the new device.
