Free Emergency Notification App
An emergency notification app helps you know exactly what’s going on. Rather than have the local authorities decide when—and when not—to issue an emergency alert, many people create their own personal emergency notification system. The Smart Life app from BodyGuardz can provide exactly this kind of customization. Better yet, this emergency notification app is free with the purchase of a BodyGuardz® Portable 5-in-1 Emergency Hub.
Monthly Subscription Services
$1.99+/month. Monthly subscription services allow you to get push notifications and add personal contacts who also receive your emergency alerts. Gimmicky features may include writing your own customized alert messages that also get sent out automatically to your contact list. Ironically, you probably won’t get a push notification each time the recurring fee hits your bank account.
Smart Life App + 5-in-1 Hub
Free. All you need to do is buy the 5-in-1 Hub and download the app. Once you set up an account and connect your device, you’ll already be able to add multiple contacts to your emergency alert list. You can customize how you receive alerts by choosing a personal alarm siren and/or push notifications for different types of disaster situations.
In-App Purchases and Upgrades
$4.99+. The most common reason for in-app purchases is the ability to add more people to your emergency contact list. Yet, there’s a difference between adding numbers to your contact list and creating a shared account that can be used by entire families. In addition, each new phone may be required to buy the upgrade.
You can also choose a push notification and/or alarm siren to personalize each type of emergency alert. When there is civil unrest, fast-spreading fire, or a hazardous materials spill, you may want the extra notification delivered by the 90-decibel alarm. At the same time, you may not want this type of loud alarm going off every time there’s a winter storm warning. Emergency alert notifications are free with the 5-in-1 Emergency Hub. However, the Smart Life app also supports our smart home security cameras with multiple packages of free and paid subscriptions. The Smart Life app is ready to provide the necessary support for you to take full advantage of these products and smart home features.
Whether there's a flash flood, tornado warning, or an active shooter in your neighborhood, you and your emergency contacts will know about it. The app monitors alerts for 28 different types of emergency situations, which are organized into 5 main categories: + Disaster + Easy Storm + Civil + Flood + Fire
