Emergency FM Radio & Weather Alerts
We could play a greatest hits list of natural disasters and emergency situations. We could cite statistics that suggest the increased expectation of disaster situations isn't just you. But rather than play on people's fears, let's move straight to the peace of mind offered by the BodyGuardz® Portable 5-in-1 Emergency Hub. The truth is we don't know what tomorrow is going to bring, but we always like to know what's happening. That's why we included the emergency FM radio in our Emergency Hub—along with other emergency and travel planning features.
The Smart Life app makes it easy to activate the FM radio and automatically shows what situations are currently available. You can still scan frequencies manually, but we've made it easy to find local FM stations, no matter where you are. You'll also be able to adjust the volume to your preferences. Keep in mind that you won't need to rely on the radio for most emergency and disaster situations. As long as you have either Wi-Fi or cellular connection, you'll get emergency alert notifications including weather alerts sent directly to your phone. the emergency FM radio is also equipped to work via Bluetooth. It's one extra way we make sure you always know what's going on.
To keep this multi functional device compact, we decided not to include VHF radio capability. this simply means that rather than getting alerts directly from the NOAA, you'll get these all-hazards and emergency weather alerts from your local radio stations. NOAA stations operate on one of seven specialized frequencies. If you're determined to hear the 3-5 minute loop that's broadcast by these stations, you can add a VHF emergency radio to your disaster preparedness list. Another way to hear these emergency alerts is to use an AM radio receiver that's tuned to your local Highway Advisory Radio. In some ways, our local FM hand radio offers the best of both worlds—you can get emergency radio alerts, while still getting commentary from local deejays.
Our portable FM hand radios are nifty in the right situation, but one thing that sets the 5-in-1 apart is our weather and civil alert system. You can personalize how you receive your local emergency alerts. You can get push notifications on your phone and/or sound a 90-decibel alarm for up to 28 emergencies. The device may not work in far-flung locations without local FM radio stations, but the portable radio and emergency weather alerts are all part of what makes our Emergency Hub the perfecy resource for frequent travelers, renters, homemakers, office managers, and caregivers.
